A leader is people-oriented; a ruler is program-oriented.

A leader derives pleasure in enriching others; a ruler derives
pleasure in enriching self.

A leader is others-conscious. That is, he does projects to make
life better for others. A ruler is self-conscious. He does projects that boosts
only his ego.

A leader uses critics to appraise and improve himself. A ruler
fights critics and prefers the company and idle comments of sycophants.
5.
A leader is an active listener. A ruler is more of an active
talker.
6.
A leader does more than he talks. A ruler talks more than he acts.
7.
A leader dialogues. A ruler negotiates.
8.
A leader is secured: he allows others to showcase their gifts and
talents. A ruler is insecure: he is always threatened that others may outsmart
him.
9.
A leader is faithful and predictable. A ruler is ‘face-ful’ (given
to eye service) and unpredictable.
10. A
leader is a pacesetter. A ruler is a pain-setter.
11. A
leader motivates. A ruler demotivates.
12. A
leader is a model and mentor. A ruler is traitor.
13. A
leader is a man of vision. A ruler is a man of confusion.
14. Under
a leader, the people glory and prosper. With a ruler, the people groan and
perish.
15. A
leader trusts in God. A ruler trusts his ‘gods’.
16. A
leader upholds core moral values. A ruler despises moral values.
17. A
leader is firm and flexible. A ruler is stubborn and inflexible.
18. A
leader values education. A ruler values only money.
19. A
leader leaves good impressions. A ruler makes great oppressions.
20. A
leader heads the team. A ruler is a figure-head.
